*He is famously known as “THE GREAT WALL OF INDIA” because
he saved Indian team in
critical situations many times with his splendid batting and making
excellent partnerships with his colleagues.
*Dravid made his one day debut in 1996 against Sri Lanka at the
Singer cup held in Singapore.He made his Test debut in 1996 at
"THE LORD'S" in England.

*He is the third highest run scorer in tests with 13288 runs
in 164
Innings.he has scored 36 centuries and 63 half-centuries
with the
best score of 270.His average in tests is 52.31.
*In April 2009,he became the only player to score a century

*He holds the record for the highest catches taken by a
player
(non-wicket keeper) in test cricket with 210 catches.
*Rahul dravid saw 453 wickets fall while batting at the
other side of
the crease in his test carrrer-the most by any batsman in a
test carrer.
*He is one of the seven batsmen to score 10000 runs in both
principal forms of cricket.(Test and ODI).
*Dravid has faced more deliveries and spent more time in the
middle while batting than
any other batsman in the history of test cricket. Throughout his test carrer,he has faced 31,258 deliveries-a
world record. No other batsman has faced even 30,000 deliveries.
*Dravid has been involved in more partnerships(738) and more
partnership runs(32,039) than any other batsman in test cricket. Dravid
has more hundred run partnerships(88) and more fifty run partnerships(126)
which is a world record.
*Dravid is the first batsman to be involved in a 300 run
partnership in ODI along with Sourav ganguly in 1999 World cup against Sri Lanka.He
is also the only batsman to feature in two 300 run partnerships in ODIs.
*He also has the record for not being dismissed for a duck
in 120 consecutive ODIs.He has not been dismissed for a duck in 76 consecutive innings in test.
*Rahul dravid is one of the two Indians to be the top scorer in World cup with 461 runs in 1999 World cup,the first world cup he played.
*Among the batsmen who have scored above 10,000 runs in test
cricket,Dravid has been dismissed for a duck for the least number of times(8)
with an average of 35.75 innings per duck-the best by any Indian batsman.
*In December 2011,he became the first non-indian to address
at the bradman oration in Canberra.
*Wisden ranked him the third greatest test batsman of all
time after Don bradman and Sachin tendulkar.
